After many years securing development approvals, the redevelopment of the former Geelong Golf Club (GGC) land finally commenced in 2012.
The residential development component is complete, and the central core facilities should be completed soon.
This infill, centrally located, 45 hectare site was home to the GGC for well over a century before closing its doors many years ago due to financial difficulties.
GGC is now reborn as a boutique, inner city, master planned residential community. The 9 hole, Graham Papworth designed, resort style course largely surrounds 320 premium home sites and, also incorporates:
- World class lawn bowls facilities, and;
- A medium density apartment complex.
The GGC Residential Estate and Golf Course is also underpinned by a club living structure. All 320 resident Owners Corporation (OC) Members regularly contribute funds to the OC Manager who is in turn responsible for:
- maintaining the Golf Course and other common property.
- monitoring the performance of the Golf Course Operator.
- approving all home designs.
- administering the statutory requirements and accounts for the OC.
The GGC Residential Estate sales performance exceeded expectations and the residential component is destined to be probably the most desirable residential enclave in inner Geelong.
